Finals really need to be Bo5, considering you can lose a game to a double protect (it didn't matter here fortunately), crit, miss, ect. Not to mention you can just lose a game on turn 1; like in round 2 here, he lost all his tempo and it woulda took a miracle to bring that back.

It’s unreal how legendaries are aloud. This is the most boring and stale meta to watch... how do y’all like this? It’s ridiculous. You can’t see cool teams made out of non legendaries. Making a rule where you can have one legendary would be fine tbh but not this bs.

  42. Nicolai Stuhlmüller

    Nicolai Stuhlmüller2 meses atrás

They have a rule where only two strong legendaries are allowed per team and that is only once every 3 years so what else do you want?

  43. Paso a paso con Mervo

800 pokemons to combine and still same rotation, its really boring to enjoy this

  44. Nicolai Stuhlmüller

    Nicolai Stuhlmüller2 meses atrás

@Paso a paso con Mervo more like 30 but that's rather the fault of the other mons. Metagames like OU are a lot more versatile with about 100 viable mons though.

  45. Paso a paso con Mervo

Paso a paso con Mervo2 meses atrás

@Nicolai Stuhlmüller 150 is something we will enjoy to deal with, but here we are talking about 15 pokemon

  46. Nicolai Stuhlmüller

    Nicolai Stuhlmüller2 meses atrás

Why would anybody use something like a Rattata or Pidgeotto? Only about 100-200 pokémon are actually strong in unrestricted battles.

  47. ViperRulerlm

    ViperRulerlm2 meses atrás

So how do these plauers actually get competitively viable Legendary Pokemon? Do they legitimately reset over and over until they get one with the right Nature and the right IVs?

  48. Naylte

    Naylte2 meses atrás

ViperRulerlm With hyper training (by using bottle caps at level 100), IVs are mostly irrelevant unless you want a specific Hidden Power or 0 IVs in a stat. Also, legendaries in gen 7 have 3 perfect stats guaranteed, so you wouldn't have to use as many bottle caps anyway. So you really only need the right nature, which is easy to get (50% chance) if you use Synchronize. It is also possible to use RNG manipulation to catch perfect Pokemon (and/or make catching shinies easier). In USUM all you really need is a timer and a computer program to determine how long to wait. This is the method I use. You can look up how to do it yourself if you're interested. Truthfully though, I suspect many of them were generated through save editing. Some people strongly oppose this, but getting good Pokemon legitimately has never been easier thanks to the above methods, so I don't consider it a big deal. Hope that helps.

  49. KamiSam

    KamiSam2 meses atrás

It depends on the Pokémon. But yeah almost always resetting for legendaries. I know in ultra sun and ultra moon they have the bottle cap system to change IVs but for nature it’s a reset game. (I’m pretty sure but please correct me if I’m wrong.)

I would love to see a championship banning use of special/legendary pokemon. There are hundreds of pokemon out there and when you allow legendaries, it completely slashes variety. combine that with the pressure to use a mega evolution and every battle ends up rotating the same handful of pokemon. oh look, another mega salamence...

  63. Jonathan Walker

    Jonathan Walker2 meses atrás

    @Nicolai Stuhlmüller have a good one. 👌

  64. Nicolai Stuhlmüller

    Nicolai Stuhlmüller2 meses atrás

@Jonathan Walker still dodging I see. I mean you have your opinion, but it is just plain wrong. You sound like someone who has the opinion that Blastoise is a Steel type. It's an opinion, but it still conflicts the games.

  65. Nicolai Stuhlmüller

    Nicolai Stuhlmüller2 meses atrás

@Jonathan Walker look, it is completely obvious you are a casual player. You dodged the question about your ranking, you think it is unfair to use legendaries despite not being able to come up with any inherent advantage they have and you don't seem too experienced in the topic of stats. Look, when players get into competitive they look up the stats of mons and see that legendaries generally have stats on the same level as regular mons, and at that point the entire concept of a legendary is basically banned into the casual story aspects. In competitive it is only the battle statistics that count, not the backstory.

  66. Nicolai Stuhlmüller

    Nicolai Stuhlmüller2 meses atrás

@Jonathan Walker dom't try to dodge and answer my question what the inherent advantage of all legendaries over non-legendaries is. I do have several teams that ended up without any legendary and got me over 1700, and that is because as a competitive player I care about what works best for my team and not about the story mode. If a team works best without legendaries, that's how it ends up.

  67. David Hagensten

    David Hagensten2 meses atrás

Kinda lame when it's always the same Pokemon year after year

  68. Nicolai Stuhlmüller

    Nicolai Stuhlmüller2 meses atrás

@Georg Bergsten yeah I think it's fine unless that dominant threat is so dangerous that every team has to pack a counter for it. I think that is when it's really no fun to play. For example gen 6 Battle Spot Singles had Mega-Kang completely unchecked and it was an absolute nightmare. The only mon with more usage than Mega-Kang was Garchomp, mostly with Rocky Helmet. I mean freaking Rocky Helmet + Reflect + RestTalk Suicune was not just viable but had a really high usage. I think that is when metagames become completely centralized. There was also vgc 16 with the infamous big 6 core of Xerneas, Primal-Groudon, Mega-Kang, Mega-Mence, Talonflame and Smeargle where every single member of the team just so happened to be countered by another one, creating tournaments where literally every single top spot was this exact team. So yeah having a dominant pokémon is alright if it is a supporting type that does much for the team wothout completely suppressing the opponent, but really critical when the opponent can only beat it by centering their entire team around countering it.

  69. Georg Bergsten

    Georg Bergsten2 meses atrás

Nicolai Stuhlmüller you’re right. The same goes for lando-t in ou.

  70. Nicolai Stuhlmüller

    Nicolai Stuhlmüller2 meses atrás

@Georg Bergsten yes but most metagames have that dominating force. In fact Primal Groudon wasn't even the most used mon in vgc 2019, but Imcineroar was. In this entire format filled with everything Incineroar was the dominating force, not just this but also last vgc, and in 2017 we had Arcanine that was on 80% of all teams. Those "variety killers" are often simply jack-of-all-trades type of pokémon which on their own already fulfill a multitude of roles. Almost all metagames have these.

  71. Georg Bergsten

    Georg Bergsten2 meses atrás

Nicolai Stuhlmüller Im just saying that when those 20% are allowed we always see the same ones. Im not saying there’s anything wrong with it but you can’t deny Pdon is on like every team.

  72. Nicolai Stuhlmüller

    Nicolai Stuhlmüller2 meses atrás

@Georg Bergsten what do you mean "now"? 80% of all legendaries have stats on the same level or below strong non-legendaries, so they've always been allowed anywhere, be it vgc, battle facilities or ranked battle spot. It is only those remaining 20% that get banned everywhere except once every 3 years.
